Mark rothko

Mark Rothko was a Latvian Jewish painter and artist. He is known for his crucial contribution to the introduction of the abstract expressionism movement. Rothko was born in 1903 in Russia, but a few years later, his family moved to the U.S. He is recognized for using unique color paintings that he produced in his final twenty years. Rothko majored in creating paints of urban scenery when he went to New York City. Rothko transitioned into surrealism's artistic style when the Second World War started. In the late 1940s, Rothko started painting canvas pieces with pure color fields that he abstracted into box-like types of colors. HE adopted this style of painting until 1970, when he died.
